How we work, where your donations go, and who we are.
Kinderland consists of two organisations: the foundation in Vienna handles strategy, finances, and quality. The partner association in Moldova implements the programmes on the ground. Both work closely together to ensure that every decision is well considered and every euro is used carefully.
Child protection comes first
The protection of children is our highest priority. Everyone working for Kinderland commits to our child protection policy and code of conduct. In practice this means: regular training, clear reporting channels in cases of suspected harm, and background checks before every hire.
There is zero tolerance for violence or abuse. In the event of serious allegations, an external and independent investigation is conducted.
Wie wir mit Spenden umgehen
In 2025 we worked with a budget of €288,000. The funds come primarily from private individuals and foundations.
80% flows directly into our programmes on the ground. 20% is used for administration and quality assurance. In Kinderland’s first year in 2025, this proportion was higher, as much needed to be invested in building up the organisation.
To ensure every euro reaches where it is needed, we work with clear rules: a dual-control principle for expenditure, regular reviews by the foundation, and an independent external audit. Further information about our impact can be found in our Impact Report.
