Our impact
What we achieve and how we measure it.
The situation in Moldova
In the Dubasari district, approximately one in four children is affected by poverty, neglect, or domestic violence. Many children grow up without their parents, as they have gone to work abroad. Grandparents or relatives care for the children, yet often without many resources of their own.
Existing social services in the region are inadequate, suffering from staff shortages and unstable funding. This is where Kinderland steps in.
What we do
Pirita Children’s Centre
Up to 30 children find a safe place with a daily structure, educational support, warm meals, psychological care, and leisure activities at the children’s centre.
Family support
We accompany families through parent training, support with daily routines and parenting, strengthening the relationship between parents and their children, and the connection to local support systems.
What changes
For the children
Children experience stability and security. Their school performance improves. They develop social skills and build confidence.
For the families
Parents feel supported and relieved. Initial improvements in parent–child interaction become visible. The risk of child endangerment decreases.
Long-term impact
Children develop stable life perspectives. Families become independently capable of acting. We help to break cycles of poverty and adversity.
