Imagine a world where children in Moldova grow up safe and secure.
Nine-year-old Valea was born in Pîrîta, in the east in the Republic of Moldova. She is surrounded by people who see her, protect and encourage her. She learns: I am capable. I have skills. I belong.
To enable children like Valea, Kinderland Foundation works with local families and partners. We create spaces filled with care, reliability and respect. We are there when structures falter or collapse.
Together, we shape life prospects.
Founded in Austria in 2021, Kinderland Foundation is politically and religiously neutral. Our goal: to give children, regardless of their family’s situation, the opportunity to develop their full potential and grow up as active members of society.
Our vision: a life of safety and belonging, with true opportunities for the future for all children in Moldova.
We empower children, teenagers and their families through relationship-building, respect, and reliability. Together with our partners, we listen, recognise, and promote potential, and create safe spaces – through education, with psychological and family support. This fosters trust, security, and the chance for a child-friendly society.
Empowering children in Moldova
Since June 2025, the children’s centre in Pîrîta has been a place of safety and security. Up to thirty children between the ages of seven and eighteen find a safe place here after school – with home cooked meals, help with their homework, psychological support, and a lot of space to play with one another on the 315 m² large grounds.
A team that creates safety
The six team members of the centre – all local – know the challenges families in the region face. The team consisting of teachers, a psychologist, a social worker, and coordinator Olga Carauș work hand in hand. They listen, empower the children, and treat the parents as equals.
A typical day at the children’s centre:

Children arrive after school & have lunch together
3pm:
Therapy sessions and homework in small groups
4pm:
Time for play and creative projects
6pm:
The last children leave the centre to go home
“For a few hours, the children forget their everyday worries. They play together, learn and laugh with one another. They can be children during their time with us“, says Oleg Diordiev, President of Kinderland Moldova.

Too many parents in Moldova cannot provide safety for their children. They themselves struggle with poverty, lack of prospects or illness. It often results in drug-abuse, alcohol, violence, and broken families. This is where Kinderland comes in: to give children, teenagers, and their families a chance of a better life.
